The demonstrators have had their excesses, but much of the violence has, appropriately, been directed at the security forces. If you are truly desperate, what else can you expect? Which isn't to say that the Tibetans who attacked Han Chinese were right (trashing their shops is another issue). But the Tibetans are victims as well, and the party responsible for making them so desperate and indirectly leading to this is the CCP. It's well and good for us to tsk tsk the Tibetans, but then we're not in their situation. I think you have a similar issue with the Palestinians- no one cares about them if they’re peaceful, they only get attention when they’re not. If you are truly desperate, what else can you expect?
Which isn’t to say that the Tibetans who attacked Han Chinese were right (trashing their shops is another issue). But the Tibetans are victims as well, and the party responsible for making them so desperate and indirectly leading to this is the CCP.
