Peter Mandelson is in “good spirits” and attended today’s first meeting of the national economic council despite suffering from a kidney stone, Downing Street said today.
The new business secretary has undergone hospital tests after experiencing kidney pain.
A spokesman for the minister said: “Over the past few days, Peter Mandelson has been experiencing some kidney pain.
“Hospital tests yesterday confirmed that there is a small stone. This will be dealt with by the normal procedures later today.”

OMG, lol! Can just one glass of milk actually make a kidney stone?
I seriously doubt there is a cause and effect in this sorry tale. But if some black humor can be found, I say milk it.
